I was recently diagnosed with borderline type 2 diabetes. My doctor did not offer any suggestions on what to eat, when to eat, or how much do.
I spoke with a nutritionist who only offered the keto diet infirmation. Telling me to calculate micronutrients, macronutrients, and such.
I make most of my food homemade. Very few items come in packages.
I have quite a large family to feed.
I am looking for suggestions or information on what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat.
I do need to lose 60 lb.
Thank you in advance.

I know it can be hard for diabetes patients to lose weight, my dad has had diabetes for a bit now. Even though its hard, it is important because the more you gain weight the more resistant your body will be to insulin. Youre on the right track with making your own food, processed food is really really bad for diabetics. You dont have to count every calories as long as you are eating healthy food. Eat lots of fibre and non starchy vegetables. Theyre healthy and filling. I also recommend taking opc supplements. Theyre awesome for managing diabetes. Ill link you to a blog that talks about it: www.vitaminexpress.org/uk/opc-vital-opc-capsules
